Meet Holly

Holly Andrus has been a member of the ward since 1999. She is currently serving as Relief Society President and there is much to love about her. Here's a little taste of who she is:

I grew up in Pocatello, Idaho but left to go to college at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where I majored in Sociology with an emphasis on the juvenile justice system. I went to the University of Chicago for graduate school and majored in "Social Service Administration." which basically means that I love to organize people and programs...as long as I can concentrate on the big picture and let someone else deal with the details (no memory for names or details)... I love helping people solve problems and I specialized in Urban Development and Revitalization.

My most embarrassing moment was when I was at a dinner with the managing partner for my consulting group at Arthur Young & Company in Chicago. I was 25 and a relatively new employee and was at a table with my colleagues talking about our business plan. Dinner was Chicken Kiev. I had never had Chicken Kiev before and didn't know that if I stabbed the chicken breast vigorously that it would spurt butter all over the guy next to me...my new boss.

Joe and I have lived in Chicago (where we met and where all our children were born), Washington, DC, and Boston (since 1999). We have three daughters Jessica, Julie, and Abi) who are mostly grown and gone...although they drop in on occasion. When I was expecting my first child I worried a lot about the responsibility of being a parent and wondered how I would do. It never occurred to me until after Jessica was born that kids are FUN too. I take things WAY too seriously and need to be reminded to LIGHTEN UP! Having fun is something I have to work at...
